What this site knows about you.

Almost nothing, and this page is the whole of it. No cookies, no analytics, no third-party scripts — the only personal data here is what you choose to type on the contact page.

Who is responsible.

Alpha Quantaris is the data controller for this site. Anything on this page — a question, a correction, a request to delete something — goes to f.migliorin@alphaquantaris.com, and a person reads it.

What is kept on your device.

Three values, all of them settings you asked this site for, none of them a cookie and none of them sent anywhere:

  • aq-theme — whether you chose the dark site or the bright one, so the next page does not arrive in the wrong one.
  • aq-quality — set if you asked for fewer effects, so the site stays light on a machine that wants it that way.
  • aq-opening-seen — the opening animation plays once a visit rather than every time you move between pages. It is forgotten when you close the tab.

They are readable only by this site, they identify nothing and nobody, and clearing this site’s data in your browser removes them. Under GDPR they are strictly functional, which is why there is no consent banner in your way.

The contact page.

It asks your name and your email address, and then, if you want to answer them, what the message is about, your company and role, how soon you need something and how you found us. Then the message itself. Only the name, the address and the message are required — the rest exist so the reply is a better one, and skipping them costs you nothing.

Why we hold it: to answer you, and to carry on the conversation if there is one. The lawful basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your message is a step toward working together, and Art. 6(1)(f) — our legitimate interest in replying to someone who wrote to us — where it is not.

Where it goes:the form posts to Contact Form 7 running on alphaquantaris.com. That is our own domain: there is no third-party form service in the middle, and your message does not pass through anyone else’s product on its way. It arrives as an email at f.migliorin@alphaquantaris.com, and that mailbox is where it lives.

If that endpoint cannot be reached, the page writes the finished message into your own mail client instead and tells you it has done so. Nothing has reached us at that point, and nothing will until you send it yourself.

How long: for as long as the exchange is live, and afterwards for as long as the relationship it led to needs it. Ask us to delete it and we will, unless something in law requires us to keep it.

What the server writes down.

Like every web server, ours records the ordinary things a request carries: the IP address it came from, the time, the page asked for, and the browser that asked. That is for keeping the site up and finding faults, and it is kept no longer than it is useful for either.

Who else touches it.

Two companies, both acting on our instructions and neither free to do anything else with it: GoDaddy, which hosts the site and the mailbox, and Cloudflare, the content delivery network that serves these pages from somewhere near you. Both are headquartered in the United States, so processing may take place outside the EEA under the safeguards in their respective data processing terms.

Nobody else. Nothing here is sold, rented or handed to advertisers, and no part of what you write is used to build a picture of you.

What does not happen here.

  • No cookies. Not ours, not anyone’s. The three values above are browser storage, not cookies, and they never leave your machine.
  • No analytics and no tracking pixels. We do not count you, follow you between pages, or know that you were here at all beyond the server log above.
  • No third-party scripts. Every file this site loads comes from this site, fonts included. Nothing is fetched from an advertising network, a social platform or a CDN belonging to someone else.
  • No profiling and no automated decisions. Nothing here scores you, sorts you or decides anything about you without a person involved.
  • No mailing list. The address you give is used to reply to you. It is not added to anything.

Your rights.

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to stop or restrict what we do with it, object to our holding it at all, or ask for it in a portable form. One email to f.migliorin@alphaquantaris.com is enough — there is no form to fill in and no charge.

If we handle that badly, you can complain to a supervisory authority: in Italy that is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, and elsewhere in the EEA the authority where you live or work.

Links that leave this site.

A few pages point outward — to alpha-zenit.com, and to the catalogues and papers credited on the data credits page. Those are other people’s sites, with their own notices, and this one stops at our edge.
